Coby DVD-207 Compact DVD Player: Affordable Entertainment at its Finest! Review

I have had a Coby CD player that has served me well for several years so I ordered it because I decided to keep the $25 Try DVD player. Unfortunately, it makes a buzzing noise when spinning, which can be heard even when watching a movie. If quiet noises don't bother you, you might not notice it.

Overall the Coby DVD player works but the noise is more annoying than I thought. I have a family and sometimes I don't want to watch DVDs while other family members are sleeping. So I turn the volume down. At low TV volume, however, the loud humming of the DVD player becomes even more audible and annoying. i give it back

Real surprise at how functional this under $40 DVD player is. The player worked as expected, the remote worked great and even offered excellent slow motion/freeze capabilities which you wouldn't expect from more expensive models. I've only used it for about 10 hours, but I would highly recommend it to anyone as a part-time portable DVD player.

I received this DVD player and it worked straight away. However, about a month after purchase, it began to have problems playing DVDs. The picture is pixelated and the audio is out of sync with the video. However, it was only $25 and I put $5 into an annual electronics replacement plan. Man I'm glad I did - this DVD player doesn't look like it's going to last a year.

Please invest some more money and buy a good brand player, like Toshiba, Sanyo, etc. This Coby player will very hot after only an hour of play. You cannot even touch the bottom of the player as it is very hot. For this reason I had to send the player back. My played DVD was also damaged by the heat. Also, the player is not magnetically shielded, so if you put the player next to the TV, you will see "pink" spots on the TV screen.

This unit is portable, plays all recorded media, all country codes, NTSC and PAL video, and best of all, this damn thing was cheap compared to what you get. Note. I only paid 35€ after delivery. The downside is that the remote is small and has bubble buttons, advancement (similar to fast forward) is usually a bit laggy, and you end up having to swap out DVDs from time to time to get them to play. I have found that DVDs need to be inserted properly. Not enough of an issue to overshadow the good…

When I first got this product I was looking for something cheap to just play workout DVDs as my laptop was broken. When I got it, 1- fell in love with its size: small and quirky. It was easy to carry, easy to set up and install: just plug it in! The CD player started overheating, skipping scenes and eventually turning off. I was very disappointed with it! Now I've learned to only use the player in small portions (no more than 30 minutes), but I'm really tempted to return it and get my money…
