🍵 Gibson Alderton 2.3 Quart Green Tea Kettle Review

This kettle is used on a new gas stove every few days and after only 2 months it was shot down. The bottom seam is rusty and leaking, the whistle doesn't work and there are traces of burnt paint on the body (I tried to clean it, suddenly it's greasy, no). Now water flows from below.

The name and/or description of this teapot is imprecise or at least incomplete. It says it's stainless steel, which is only partially true. The bottom is stainless steel and the sides are aluminum which defeats my purpose of buying a stainless steel kettle. It is misleading and should be corrected. I am sending it back and need to renew my search for a genuine stainless steel kettle.

First use, after reading the instructions for use (wash, do not pour over the bottom of the filler - check), put on the stove. boiling began. took the kettle, started to pour AND THE HANDLE BROKEN. Luckily nothing happened but oh my god I could have burned myself on something TERRIBLE. his return is FAST! They charged me $10 for return shipping. I will no longer be a main member until this is fixed.

Cons: Spout release lever not secure. I burned my thumb the first time because I thought it would be better. There is a hole, I assume it is for use without opening the entire spout. BUT, when I tried it that way, the water ran out of the entire spout area, making a mess. Pros: super cute! It's a little lighter teal than I expected but I love it! Looks great on my stove. Finally. I was very happy with this new kettle. The kitchen has been repainted and the color shown online was exactly what I wanted. When the kettle arrived the color was MUCH different, very green-turquoise not blue-turquoise. The kettle is ideal for those with a professional gas hob as the base is wide and covers the flame area rather than the flames leaking down the side of the kettle. Today I received this beautiful kettle and started using it. I burned my finger opening the spout to pour water into my afternoon tea. It was hot! In general, I really like this teapot. This is the first teapot I have ever had and didn't know what to look for or what to expect in a teapot. It was slightly larger than it looks in the picture but still looks good on my stovetop. I don't fill it all the way (I only brew coffee for one) and it boils very quickly. i hate to leave a negative review because i liked the kettle at first sight and i was looking for a new red enamelled kettle and it was the right price. I always read reviews before making any purchase now so I was aware of people's negative thoughts about the item and most seem to think it's too light for a kettle.
