Can be made to work, but

Can be made to work, but with effort. First you need to saw off to the desired length with a hacksaw. Easy enough but use gloves! My hands are cut, there's a reason it's fiberglass. In addition, the needle threader with half-folded elastic cannot go through the tubes - too thick. You can work around this by flipping the east around and piercing it so the elastic doesn't double up. This one's on me: They're a lot thicker than my old Eureka racks, and to fit the ends into the Eureka connectors Iโ€ฆ

Parts do not fit existing bars

I didn't believe the bad reviews because I thought I was an engineer and could fix all the problems described. Unfortunately, these details do not even remotely match the existing pole pieces. The inside diameter of the rods is smaller so that the existing line does not go through. The string sent is shorter than the existing one. The replacement bar had to be cut, which was fine, but when trying to assemble it the metal bracket ended up falling off. brand new pole. The glue barely lasted a few

Bought to replace the tent poles in my sons.

Bought to replace the posts in my son's play tent. I should have checked the measurements more carefully as I thought the packaging would take up the whole tent, but it only fit one side. I bought the 2nd pack to fix the whole tent. Some people have complained that the bars are difficult to cut or split, I used an electric multi tool and had no problems with it. There is also a second rubber stopper to cover the cut end, so I didn't find it necessary to flatten the cut end, just put the stopper

Smaller diameter than the original.

Using this kit to actually repair our tent pole was pretty easy. But it's a shame Coleman only offers one set when they sell tents with different pole diameters. As our original rod has a larger diameter, the new/repaired section will not work in the middle as the larger diameter rod will not fit in the tip of the new one. So I put a new one on the end of the knot and then wrapped the end with gorilla tape for a tight fit over the larger tip. Works fine but Coleman really needs to get togetherโ€ฆ

These bars are 9.5mm long, not 11.2mm.

I wish the description was more accurate. I measured in inches (my error) and ordered assuming they would fit. They don't. The closest size seems to be 11.2mm but I couldn't find any Coleman bars in that size so I ordered an 11mm from another manufacturer, these were the largest diameter bars I could find . Worst case I can grind 0.2mm pole ends when they really are 11.0 in the repair kit. Originally 11.2mm. BTW, Coleman's parts page is terrible! When entering the model/product number I thinkโ€ฆ

Expensive but we saved our tent!

The product itself was great. The poles are very stiff - I'm used to them being a bit more flexible but I think they'll be ok. Very durable. The kit also includes a 10-foot shock cord cord and feeder that allows you to pull it through the bars. Comes in a nice big long box - nothing to complain about. We lost our tent poles to our Coleman High Line 4. Every single one of us. They were out of place in the movement. Since the tent was only used once, we preferred to buy a replacement rather thanโ€ฆ
