Best thimble

I like this thimble. This is the best I've ever used. I ordered a size down as my fingers may or may not swell. Now one fits perfectly, swelling or not. And it's better than Dr. Eats or old-fashioned smooth thimbles.

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

I have fat fingers. This thimble is quite large

The thimble is a bit heavier than usual. But if you are a hand quilt then this is what you are looking for. The crown on it is amazing. I have a hard time finding a thimble big enough for my fingertips. Size 11 is a bit big for me. I apply beeswax to the inside of the thimble. It was a thick dark wax that I bought at a farmer's market. This made it a little sticky and sticks to my finger very well. I liked it so much that I bought a second one to have for the house and also for the patchwork…

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Without automatic

Small size, rough inside

These run small, I used an online sizing chart which said to use a 10 so got an 11. Still too small and came back for 12. Will update then. This thimble is particularly inconvenient as it is too small as the outer notch is repeated on the inside, it is not smooth like the more typical Dritz mice. If it were smooth inside it would be much better. I would also like the edges to be raised differently or the notch positioned differently on the top. However, this is the best I have found for hand…

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
