Colorado Saddlery Silver Dot Rope Review

Exactly what I was looking for at a great price. Need a quick release hondo to handle the cattle hooves/legs in our manhole. Very convenient and much faster for release.

The rope is strong and looks like it will last a while, but the clasp is difficult to use. It could only be me, but once I opened it, it was difficult to close it enough to avoid opening in the air. It would be nice if this was only used in emergencies.

I am an elderly person and do not compete in arenas. I use the lasso to catch calves in the first few days of life to mark the ears. I couldn't get the renegade hondo to work so I removed it and replaced it with a leatherburner. I like the characteristics of this rope as it is not as stiff as most nylon ropes. This one works better for me and while it hasn't been tested for durability yet, it looks strong enough to handle a big beast.

This is a good working rope when you need a Honda quick release. It is excellent for working with longhorns in paddocks. Rope feels very similar to nylon rope, so it's not as soft as cotton. I couldn't find a cheaper Honda quick release cable anywhere online and was very happy that it was eligible for 2 day shipping. I can't speak to its durability or how long it will last as we've only had it a month, but even if it doesn't last very long it will be cheap and easy to replace.

As a vet I have used these ropes for many years. They usually last a long time. I ordered two for a ranch last year, the first works well but has come up a couple of times. I used the second one today and it opened every time and that wasn't big old cows with 150 pound calves. The quality of Honda's quick release is not what it used to be. Now they are cheap and unreliable. the rear window is of course closed. Will Colorado Saddlery endorse their product? The time will show. Update I've had two
