This is a nicely tailored well fitting jacket with a separate 'puffy' jacket with zip fastening. The outer jacket is made of a very comfortable material - similar to ripstop fabric, water-repellent. The hood zips up and is long enough to cover your face in snowy weather and there is a nice velcro closure at the back to zip it back up if needed. This Mens Whirlbird IV Interchange model runs large. Looks like it's about 2 sizes too big. I have another Columbia spare jacket and this XL they sent me was more like a 2XL or even a 3XL. I have ordered this jacket and tried on Helly Hansen, North Face, REI and Mountain Hardware. It was the cheapest coat on the market and the features (vents, warmth of the zip lining, quality stitching) are really good for the price.
