THE BEST winter coat, but definitely go one size up!

I LOVE this coat! So warm and thumb sleeves are the best option (keeps the sleeve out of the wind). I also like that the pockets are lined with fleece. Only the size is smaller, you need to go up about 2 sizes. I wear size 14/16 and usually wear a L/XL top. I ordered 2XL and it fits perfectly (with room for a sweater at the bottom).

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Very expensive

it's quite thin and I wouldn't ski or play sports.

After reading the reviews I thought it would be warmer than it was. It's pretty flimsy in my opinion and I wouldn't go skiing or do any outdoor activities in the winter as some reviewers have suggested. This would be a great fall or spring jacket. But I have a lot of them, so I sent these back. Overall I love Columbia clothes and find them true to size, but this jacket definitely fits better.

. go from S to M - I like the jacket

Although I had to return it to go from S to M - I like the jacket. The design is great and I felt warm just trying it on. For Sizing Reference For Others - Chest 36 C/D Jean Size 6 Gap. It was too tight in the chest and hips and if I had worn a sweater or a thicker top underneath it would have been too tight. When I stretched my arms all the way forward I felt they were pulling on my back too much so I went for a size M instead so that should fit now.

Warm and very welcoming looking

I was a bit concerned to find the jacket was delivered in an envelope in the mailbox at the bottom of the driveway as I thought it was very thin. It's really thin, but the metal lining reflects your body heat and keeps you warm. I'm in the Midwest; since i had it, it hasn't been less than 20 degrees and i was warm in my jacket. Whether this is sufficient at lower temperatures, I can not judge at the moment. Where the sleeves end with the arms, there is an elastic band that hugs your skin snugly

All purpose windproof jacket

GOOD: I really like this jacket. I wear it down to -10 degrees Celsius, but it's light enough to wear even in spring. Situations where I've worn it: New England winter, very windy Scandinavia in spring, running in summer (don't ask), on the bow of a boat approaching a glacier at high speed (last situation I was cold. wins !) the faux fur on the inside of the collar is comfy but bloody ugly. This makes it impossible to use this jacket as part of a fashionably unsportsmanlike winter ensemble. I…

Amazing colour, not very suitable for "petite "

Haven't worn it in the cold yet - this preview is all about the look, fit and colour. I will update as soon as I see the weather. I love the mineshaft color! This is a very versatile color. It looks gray when I wear black and brown when I wear brown - it's the best of both worlds! It's very comfortable, not bulky. It seems a little thin indeed, it will be interesting to test it depending on the weather as the positive reviews say it will keep you warm. My only complaint is the cut on my body…
