I really like the open and simple design and it does what it claims to do. I'm using it to control volume to a set of system speakers and to be able to switch to headphones.the problem is either with the in/out audio jack or the soldier joins for it. If there is the slightest upward tension on the cable in, sound will drop to almost nothing. The problem is either in the port or the soldier joint for it.The volume control is not linear.
