iDataLink Compustar BLADE-AL - Enhanced Immobilizer Bypass and Doorlock Integration Cartridge with Web-Programmable Features Review

Fairly easy to install, plug and play and just one cable. However, their installation guide is missing and their support is lacking. I don't know what I expected from a company that only allows you to flash your firmware via IE 32bit. Just bypass it the old way and save time and nerves.

The website showed it would fit my car so I ordered it. When attempting to install, the instructions state to connect to the immobilizer circuit. After hours of research and OEM wiring diagrams saying where the immobilizer module was located, I called idata and they said there is no immobilizer circuit in my car. I have a Subaru Forester x 2008. 2005 x and all xt models have an immobilizer circuit

This product greatly simplifies installation compared to a standard bypass. The cassette plugged into a remote start box and was easily programmed via a separately purchased USB cable, but was worth every penny. It was nice to avoid extra cables and not have another bulky box to hide under the dash. I will be using this for all my future installs as it saves a lot of time and also offers the ability to update on the fly via USB cable.

if you have never installed the iDataLink bypass module (like me!). Note that you need to buy a USB cable there to program this module. After much confusion in the previous statement, things have gotten a lot simpler. I was amazed to see that I could program any user option, update the CM6000 firmware and even use this module in another car just by programming it from the website. Kudos to iDataLink customer support, I had a flashing blue light issue and calling them fixed the issue.

Works great but note this product is not for consumer sale. I called iDatalink support with a question about the wiring diagram for my car and they informed me that these units were only to be sold to installers and they do not offer support for consumers who buy from third party suppliers. Developers are known to have to invest in their websites and software. You have to keep up with the ever-growing technology. Why can't you make him a new application that makes programming easier for him? Programming this thing was a real headache.
