It doesn't heat the water or keep it warm, my husband heated the water and it cooled down in 10 minutes. He bought it and it was a gift for late January. I received my foot bath this morning, have already tried it and I really liked it. Perfect size for my feet, size 7 with plenty of room, some splashing. I didn't find the water level line difficult to find, but it can be difficult for a person with poor eyesight to see.
