They are needed for wiring outdoor lamps. They seal well and won't fall out when you pull the cables on either end. Make sure you crimp the metal part well (according to the instructions) before heating.

The copper/metal crimping the wire was thin. I didn't want to pull the wires hard to test it for fear I would break it. Most butt connectors can handle some tension, but they don't. Another thing is that they are good for the money.

These are basically the same connectors as the Li-Tite. Ideal for almost all work on the car electrics. I personally use this type of connector to install my car radio. Never had any problems. Check prices in stores. You can get 5 pk for the same price as this 100ct.

These connectors will not work with standard ratcheting pliers. The pipe thickness must be too small. I had to use cheap dimple pliers to tighten them enough. The problem with dimple pliers is that you run the risk of piercing the heat shrink tubing, defeating the whole purpose of heat shrink connectors.
