I bought one of these for my son 3.5 years ago and it has withstood a lot of wear and tear, pool wear and many, many visits to the washing machine. Bought for 18 month old grandson and he is perfect in every way. The brim shades his face, neck and ears, and thanks to the fastening feature, he stays on his perfect and beautiful little head even when it's windy. We don't need (and don't need) Velcro under the chin straps, and I can cut them off. The ventilation openings keep his head cool. The brim is quite wide for a toddler but amazingly it doesn't flap over my son's eyes! This hat is perfect for the beach or outside in the hot sun. I like how he can protect the back of his head. The material is soft, big enough to slip on yourself (a little tight of course), but the adjustable code at the back of the head and chin strap ensures it stays in place. I'm glad I bought this!

I bought four of these hats! What a great price for a quality sun hat. I also like the vented sides which really help with the heat. The brim offers coverage for the face and shoulders. Machine washable and wear resistant.

My little one has red hair so we have to tuck him in, this hat makes him sweat so much he always takes it off. The side slits are pretty but not practical. While it sits great and blocks the sun, underneath it's just a sweaty mess.

The hat was very tight for my 10 year old son. There was no expander on the harness. A child's hat should be able to tighten or loosen it as needed.
