Excellent quality - strong tension - prevents belt slipping

The belt on my Saturn SL2 squeaked and slipped, especially right after starting, in wet weather and when I turned on the air conditioning. Replaced belts, no improvement. This tensioner worked great. Note: It comes with a 90mm steel pulley.

Pros
  • Round torsion spring technology instead of flat spring thanks to built-in corrosion protection
Cons
  • Not sure

Tensioner not described

Rattling when air conditioning is on. Louder if you step on the brake pedal and turn on the air conditioning while driving. Bought a Gates spanner from O'Reilly at half price, it's stamped the same numbers as the Gates spanner. Here is a really excellent product description for you. I have the same problem with this tensioner.

Pros
  • Goodyear Engineered products now under the Continental Elite brand
Cons
  • Modernity
