Developed for old thick-walled rods, but still very good.

They fit perfectly on my old heavy gauge handlebars, but they don't turn tight enough on newer thin gauge handlebars. Don't worry - if you have a hot glue gun, apply a thin layer to the flared part - it just peels off a thin film. Nice and comfy - and my palm rest holds this stud perfectly on both ends. I'm 6'5" tall with a 52" chest. It is on a recumbent bike with special handlebars that cannot be extended. It meant a lot to me.

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Almost never

Design flaw, will not work without modification

I bought these to lengthen a 760mm handlebar to 780mm and then refit the grips as usual (have to cut 10mm off each one). There is one major design flaw, however, and I don't understand how other reviewers got it to work without major changes. steering wheel) - this screw turns the nut with it, so that the knurled parts do not move and the product does not shrink in the steering wheel. And why should it? The nut encounters less resistance when simply turning with the bolt than when left in place

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Low repairability

Good (updated) idea, bad execution. NO!

This looked like a decent easy solution to add some Onza barends to my retro rebuild GT LTS with Answer Pro Taper Carbon Riser, especially since ControlTech makes other excellent products. Inserting barends into these extensions was relatively easy after some "persuasion" with a flat-head screwdriver and the gratuitous use of a few select four-letter "set-amplifier" combinations. However, despite using Finish Line carbon paste, I could not get these handlebar extensions to stay securely inโ€ฆ
