No picture, only sound works.

The picture on my 720p or 1080p TV is very grainy. Also, with some home-made VHS tapes and store-bought films, the screen turns blue and no image is recorded on the display, only sound. I had to keep flipping the 720p/1080p switch to get the video to show the returned item. It came out cheap, may invest in something with better gear.

Pros
  • A Dream Come True

Audio and video accessories are pennies

I ordered because I have an OLD VCR/DVD player that didn't work with any of the new DVD players I've had before. The problem was that I couldn't connect it to my system (HDMI surround sound). I found this and tried it. I look cheap but don't let that fool you. This does exactly what I wanted. It was the hooks that allowed my OLD VCR/DVD player to connect to the (converter) which in turn connected to my surround sound systems. I'm glad I took Chancr for this one!

  • Always liked

Serves its purpose!

ATTENTION! You still need an RCA cable to use this product. The product I received has an RCA jack on one end and HDMI on the other. The seller's product photos and description do not indicate that you still need the RCA cable you probably used. I took a picture of what my setup looks like to make it work. And it really works, so it'll serve to watch the DVDs we bought before Prime Video and Disney+ were anything special.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • General information

One missing detail is important

New TV with old cable box. needed an HDMI connection for the TV but the old cable box only had the old RCA plugs, red, yellow and white, this converter was the right solution. The not clearly spelled out step was that the converter needs power, it comes with a power cable with a USB connector, only a standard USB port is needed to complete the installation. We had a much more expensive converter, but it caused the image to disappear for a few seconds every few minutes. Development was the right

Pros
  • Inputs: 1xRCA (Yellow, White, Red), Outputs: 1xHDMI1.3 1080p (60Hz). DOES NOT support 3D and 4K, NO HDMI to AV conversion
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

This device saved my throat as much as VHS tapes!

This unit is the perfect replacement for the S-cables that came with older VHS VCRs. These S-Cables allow a person to connect a cable box to a VCR to copy old VHS tapes onto blank DVD-R and DVD+R discs. All you need is a DVD recorder with RCA connection cables. Standalone DVD burners generally work better than VHS/DVD combo players/recorders. The device with RCA/HMDI connection is well suited for connecting digital cable boxes to DVD recorders with RCA cable connections.

Pros
  • Supports standard TV formats PAL, NTSC3.58, NTSC4.43, SECAM, PAL/M, PAL/N.
Cons
  • Some bugs

A Few Things You Should Know

This little device works as described and I was able to import some VHS tapes from the VCR to the Macbook using the OBS software. However (and maybe I just didn't read the manual or description carefully enough, but...) you need to know two important things: 1. Power is required to operate and the cable is not included. To connect to a power outlet, you need a standard Kindle-type micro-USB charger. Most people have spare parts these days. It's what powers the Kindle and other popular devices…

Pros
  • RCA to HDMI Converter - Converts analog composite input to HDMI output 1080p (60Hz) displayed at 1080p (60Hz) HD TV/TV/Moniter
Cons
  • I don't remember
