Sufficient but cheap construction

adapter seems to convert HDMI signal from 4k camera to VGA on old monitor. However, the housing is poorly made and that makes me doubt the life expectancy of the electronics. The case makes it very difficult to tighten the screws. When tightening the screws, the 2 halves of the housing come loose. As always, duct tape fixed the problem, but do you really need duct tape for your new electronic gizmo? Luckily it's hidden behind the monitor.

Works EXACTLY as it should.

Fast delivery. Works perfectly. A great way to connect an older projector with only VGA input to a Chromebook with HDMI output. If the projector has speaker input, this adapter can pass audio from the HDMI stream through a separate audio cable. Highly recommended.

  • An added bonus is a 3.5mm mini-jack audio cable. There are strong screws on both ends, not easy to fall off. with VGA connection via optional HDMI cable. 3.5mm audio jack transmits voice to speaker or display. The audio is dubbed, perfect for home theater and business presentations

does not work with HDMI-VGA adapters

Unfortunately, this product [or maybe this particular batch!?] did not work for my application. I connected a new HDMI from my PS4 to an Acer monitor and it didn't work. No signal, not a trace of power or data flowing through the device. The case also opened quite easily and the cable had enough slack. The item has been returned.
