Low cost, just works

I was looking for something that could be an air gap between my cell tower, which I get internet from, and my home servers. I just hooked up a fiber optic line between them, hooked up the ethernet and hooked it up and it just worked. I haven't even had to think about it since installing them and I think that's the whole point with these types of devices. You don't even have to know he's there if he's doing his job and filling this list 100%.

Pros
  • There's something in there
Cons
  • Almost everything is there

Works great in my house

This was the perfect solution for accessing another part of the house to enjoy gigabit internet without buying wholesale Cat 6 cables. It works very well to deliver gigabit speed from the router/switch to another part of the home if you buy two devices and use a multimode duplex fiber optic cable to connect them. /ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Pros
  • Rugged design
Cons
  • Some difficulties

Works as described: Network products

100m LWL laid for lightning protection, bought to connect them. Really lazy because I have sfp cells on both sides. They were working with fiber optics, which I've basically been trying to mess up for a few months. I recently took out the SFP transceivers and put them in two different brands of switches and everything works fine. I will be buying more SFP transceivers to replace so I can experiment with fiber. Basically, if you want a cheap way to test fiber optics that you can use for a long…

Pros
  • Many will do
Cons
  • Long wait
