Single 80mm fan not packaged as shown

I have used this type of fan for many applications in the past. I was assembling a network closet and wanted it to look cleaner. The Coolerguys single 80mm fan has been shown and detailed with a black mesh grille. When I received the box I noticed that it had been previously opened and not fully sealed. The fasteners were loose in the box, missing two screws, zip ties and two coil grids without the black mesh. I felt it was a mistake to send an open box and exchanged the fan for a spare…

Ideal use for an entertainment center - extracts hot air!

Excellent build quality and price. The mounting options are well thought out - you decide how you want to mount the fans and the direction of the airflow. They're quiet, but not quiet. I use them to air my Xbox Series X and the Xbox is quieter than these fans, but again the Xbox IS is quietly whispering. However, you'll never hear the fans when the TV is on or there's other ambient noise, so don't let that put you off - you'll LOVE these fans. Since they're USB powered, you'll need to disable…

Inexpensive solution to receiver overheating

I was having trouble with the video circuitry in my outdated Onkyo receiver; the picture appeared and disappeared after a few minutes of viewing. Despite not being in the case, the amp section always felt quite hot. (I blame cats for routinely sleeping on them when they get cold when I'm not around and stuffing them with fur.) This fan was my inexpensive solution. I plugged it into the USB port on the front of the receiver and placed it fan side up over the amp section (pulling cold air into…

Design flaws with cables

Whoever built this never used it. The fan frames have cutouts on each side. The wire exits the exit side and the grooves should allow it to pass through the frames and further into the cabinet. However, only a thin, unshielded portion of the cable can enter the cutout. But that part of the wire is too short to reach the notch. It doesn't stretch and I can't fit the thicker wire in the groove. For this to work I would have to cut the wire and splice it half an inch longer. Or I could shave the…

This product is fantastic.

I have a home theater cabinet where I store my PC, Wii, Pioneer VSX 1018AH receiver, Maxtor External HD, Time Warner cable box, Blu-ray player and Sony SACD player. The counter has glass doors but of course I had to leave them open when doing stuff. Now this is no longer necessary. The noise level has dropped so much that I can barely hear the system. The music is booming and the entire cabinet is in a fragrant 60 degrees. Great purchase, I recommend it to everyone. Keep in mind that most of…

Moves Air Silently: USB Fan

I was looking for a quiet fan to ventilate a partially enclosed computer shelf that is easy to install and quiet. I used a few fans that could be used as jet engine sound props in movies and spent extra money on a computer case to keep things quiet. I saw a few tones of hum or vibration and was ready to get the job done if needed, but thankfully I haven't had any issues with this fan. Installation took about ten minutes including the capture tools and the instructions were very easy to follow…

Very quiet. 3 year guarantee.

I installed this fan in my indoor entertainment center. I am very happy with them. Advantages: - 3 year replacement guarantee - Virtually silent operation. At 44 cubic feet per minute, that's enough to circulate the air in my office about five times a minute. A complete kit for a clean, finished installation. All necessary parts are included. Contrary to what is shown in the photo, I had a pass-through USB connection. I suspect this is the same fan that Coolerguy sells separately: a Coolerguys…
