Generally the telescope hardware runs on 12V so I need a USB hub that can sit on the telescope itself to connect the focuser, cameras etc. This was easy to assemble and still works great.

AC power from the solar system does not interfere with this device at all. Works great and the data transfer is exactly what I expect from a 2.0 connection! I installed it on an equipment rack between monitors and recording equipment and it fits like a glove! Would definitely buy again.

Bought from 8 different manufacturers Powered USB Hub to control 6 USB GPRS/SMS modems. This is the first device that does not fail after a few weeks and is powered intermittently. I would give 5 stars if the installation was geared towards the data center communications rack rather than the circuit breaker rack.

Product was DOA, I called CoolGear and they were far from friendly. They told me it was impossible to have a DOA product. I had high hopes for the product but the customer service was disgusting. Stay away from it, unfortunately I don't think there is another product on the market that covers this functionality.

Not sure if the hub works or not. The first order had no power supply. It uses a two prong power supply so the replacements I have won't work. I sent the hub back and ordered another one. Today came the second and also without power supply. The box that this thing comes in doesn't seem big enough to fit the power adapter you see in the ad. Very satisfied, it suits my needs perfectly and works perfectly in my ground vehicle, hidden behind the original factory radio.
