Bought in 2016 for auto electronics

I bought this in December 2016 to add a backup camera to a 2008 Ford Fusion. Fits easily in the trunk's plastic trim, with a small hole in the plastic and another in the metal case to put the wire through. I powered up the reverse light and there was a ground in the trunk. Pioneer's touchscreen radio installed for the screen did not require a flyback signal. Solid feel from this camera, not cheap plastic. The workmanship still looks good. Clear picture day and night but I wouldn't say OEM…

Pros
  • This is great
Cons
  • Hard to say

Great camera for a factory look

This is a great camera, I installed it on my 2008 Hyundai Sonata between the license plate lights and it looks like it came from the factory with the camera built in. The camera image quality is as good as my Ford Fusion. Being able to toggle guides on and off is a great feature as the head unit in my car has adjustable guides so I just turned them off on the camera. This camera is very reliable, unlike many other cameras on the market, this one is fixed with a 14mm nut and does not move once…

Pros
  • Great construction
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

The camera fits comfortably in your hand. It has some weight despite being the size of a US postage stamp. The body and threaded portion of the camera are metal and appear to be powder coated rather than painted. Image quality at the level of the factory camera, including the ability to shoot at night. I'm deducting a star because the camera is attached with a nut and the nut that came with it was too big. It could be turned on and off from the camera without refueling. After a trip to Home…

Pros
  • Easy-to-read control panel
Cons

Good little camera but not Ultra HD

The camera comes in a fairly complete package. Everything you need to install in your car if your head unit / car radio has the right rear view camera input. I have installed quite a few cameras in my cars and friends' cars, so I have some experience with different rear camera manufacturers. I bought this camera because the description said it was "Ultra HD". Spring. it is not. Image quality is good. better than some of the others I have installed. but nowhere near as good as the OEM HD cameras

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Not bad

Panzer Almost a good idea

Camera quality is good. The wedges for tilting the camera were a good idea, but not well thought out. The wedges are used to tilt the camera down. They don't fit well when rotated to tilt the camera the way I want it. Using a razor I was able to cut a hole in the wedge to fit it in reverse. If the camera is tilted up or down with the supplied wedge, the mounting bolt screw will no longer be perpendicular to the surface to which the nut and washers are attached. When you tighten the nut, the…

OEM Look - Installed on a 2012 Nissan Altima

I installed this along with a 4.3" auto dimming car rear view mirror with two AUTO-VOX video inputs. I only gave the camera four stars because it could/should have had more information to get a clear idea of the mounting location and what image you can expect based on that. Several others have posted great tips in their reviews - keep this in mind Get advice and get the right size drill bits and nuts. Altima seemed to have an obvious factory mounting location under the chrome trim on the trunk.

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • Upgradeable

No instructions included

Small, solid and good looking. But there is no help in the instructions and there were many misspellings like "white corn, green corn" instead of cord. As for installation, I did this on my 2011 Altima:1. Trunk lid trim removed. License plate cover where the headlights are removed. I drilled a hole where I wanted to install the camera. I drilled a second hole through the fuselage body into the trunk.2. Pull the cable from the camera through both holes and secure the camera with the locking…

Pros
  • Best in Niche
Cons
  • Out of fashion

Lots of good, some bad (grainy image at night)

GOOD: Works very well in daylight. The connector from the camera to all the cables that come with the camera is small and works well for those hard-to-reach places (didn't have to drill very large holes). The ability to toggle parking rules on and off is a good thing (my car stereo does it, so I didn't need a camera for that). Being able to toggle image inversion on and off is a good thing (I flipped the camera upside down so I didn't have to flip the image, but some people might want to flip…

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • I have no negative feelings about it, it's ok
