🌡️ Cooper Atkins DFP450W Multicolor Digital Pocket Thermometer, 4-5/8 inch Length Review

The description states that this thermometer is able to "withstand industrial dishwasher conditions and maintain the maximum temperature of the wash cycle". Yes. no Taken out of the dishwasher and there was a liquid in the display that looked like juice. This is probably the flux used to clean the contacts at the factory. Tried to dry it and other good batteries but that's what it's made for. I recommend, but only for hand washing.

I have had the DPP400W for almost 10 years but the on/off button is so worn that I had to use a toothpick or something to push it in far enough to activate it. While searching for a replacement, the DFP450W came up and I was made aware that the display was on top. It is easier to read in this position than on the side. I have to remove the star because it doesn't turn off automatically, so using it will most likely drain your batteries a lot faster. I still like it better than the DPP400W.

I needed a thermometer for my aquarium. All the ones I've gotten from fish stores/departments have been awful, sometimes nearly 10 degrees below normal which can kill tropical fish. I did a little research and found this Cooper Atkins thermometer. That's great. Super accurate. I dip it in water and take a reading in a second. Ideal for keeping aquariums in this temperature zone. I would definitely recommend it to any other thermometer.

I love this thermometer. Reads very quickly and accurately, has a wide temperature range, good size and clear screen. But it's pretty unreliable. It drains batteries much faster than expected, requiring replacement a few or more times a year. I have the second one and it recently started draining the batteries very quickly (within a few weeks) and then eventually died completely.
