This brand of illuminated hook comes very handy when you want a better view of your work. I also used them at night.

This hook I think is fine. I've only used it a few times as it makes you a little blind due to the bright light. It's not too bad when used in daylight, but it seems to defeat the purpose.

I purchased this product based on positive previous reviews. The LED light is very bright and not intended for use in normal lighting conditions. You need to have a low light situation and you also need to point the end of the hook away from you while crocheting (if using the crochet pen style) as the light is so bright that you like to hold the needle to the side (I do it when). I am not at all happy with this hook. The light is so bright it's blinding and you can't see what you're working on. The little switch to turn on the light is right where my hand rests on the button. I absolutely do not recommend this hook.

I have a full set of these hooks and use them for everything. They are so ergonomic that even with carpal tunnel syndrome, arthritis and some hand deformities I can use them for hours every day if I want to with no ill effects. They are light and very handy thanks to the flat handle. Also, light is especially useful when working with dark threads.
