Absolutely unreliable under normal load with 5700 XT

I bought this PSU to work with Ryzen 5 3600 and 5700 XT GPUs in a new build. With these options, the system could have handled a 550w or 650w PSU, but I chose this 750w PSU to have way more power than needed to avoid problems. However, the PC would freeze and restart whenever the GPU was stressed - a game, a test, or even opening a web browser. I spent endless hours looking for everything from bad memory to the GPU before finally narrowing the problem down to this PSU. I eventually replaced itโ€ฆ

I almost would have damaged my gear if I hadn't changed it.

Everything installed perfectly as I have experience building many PCs. I had a bad experience with a previous Corsair product but decided to try the Corsair product anyway. After the first day, my computer started randomly shutting down and up again. For the first time I thought maybe it was just my valve. The second time I started researching. After trying multiple times to diagnose the problem, I decided I wouldn't risk my parts to find out. I thought it might be my motherboard, but I thought

I love Corsair but stay away from the CX series.

I love Corsair products. I have a Corsair 95 keyboard, Scimitar mouse, CPU cooler, case and more. I swear by Corsair and all their products because of the quality of the products they continue to make. Other than that, this is the only Corsair product I've ever owned that was an absolute turd. The power supply lasted 6 months until a very strong smell of burnt plastic started coming out of my computer. I removed everything from my computer and took the parts outside for inspection and sureโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Best in niche
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

The power supply has exploded, the support service is weak.

, I received this on December 21, 2019. I ordered it on 12/10/19 and was supposed to receive it on 12/12/19 but Amazon managed to lose my order and said it had been delivered. Anyway I installed it on 12/21/19 at 6pm, it worked great. 12/22/19 still works. On 12/23/19 at 10:26 am it exploded and just started smoking. Very frustrated with the whole process. In general, I will not buy the same model. UPDATE: I tried contacting CORSAIR's claims department. They are not very clear and detailedโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Dear

I bought this on the 7th July 2015 and now pretty much exactly 5 years later , I post I remember because it was the cause of many problems all along. For the first few weeks I emailed and opened a ticket with Corsair support for excessive coil squeak, at the time I had the 980 and 4790k. Of course, when I overclocked both, it only got worse and it couldn't handle the increase in board or GPU voltage. I noticed it was constantly howling and crackling noises and Corsair support asked me to writeโ€ฆ
