CP Technologies Serial Adapter CP US 03 Review

I'm a senior network engineer. I don't like many keys or converters. This? I love it! It does exactly what it says and doesn't drop the connection due to a buffer overflow.

By far the best solution I've used to provide a basic USB->Serial connection. In addition, the price is very good. I use them to support production line activities.

After reading many reviews about problems with these types of adapters, I decided on a USB to serial adapter from CP Technoliges. The drivers installed without any problems. Throughput is much higher than expected, especially considering COM ports aren't the fastest things in the world! (I manually increased the port speed and the adapter was fine.) The installation information was very specific and clear. However, the supplied CD did not contain any files similar to the files described in the instructions. At least they had a website that described the file for XP.

Installed in seconds and worked great for me to sync my Palm Vx to a Dell Windows XP computer. Just make sure you install the drivers first (the CD is almost hidden in the box). My Palm also syncs a lot faster now than it would with a real serial port (which makes sense, which is why they dropped it), but it's a nice added benefit that my hot sync now only takes about a second or so.

This saves my experiment. Same as Radioshack, some features don't work for some reason. However, the connection worked without any problems. Thank you for this good product.

I needed this cable to use with my Garmin Rino 120 because my new laptop didn't have a serial adapter. My first attempt was to use a similar product from Radio Shack, but I found Radio Shack's product very difficult to use and unstable. I ordered a CP Technology product from Revain and it worked great! In addition, the CP Tech product costs less than half the cost of the Radio Shack product (shipping included).
