I'm new to clipping pedals but these cleats wear out after just one try. I spoke to a friend and it's not normal. I read online that this could be because the spike is brass. Anyone have similar experiences?

I've ridden about 400 miles on these pedals. You were great. The level of buoyancy allows me to engage without joint pain. The flat side is great for jumping and running around. Update: At about 600 miles I noticed a clicking noise when going downhill. I removed the pedal and lubricated the spindle and bearings. Like new.

I mounted it on my bike. I liked all of these pedals; Dual use (SPD/Platform), high quality composite material and very easy installation. Only problem... after two weeks they started to squeak when I got out of the saddle. Tried several ways to fix it but nothing helped. Eventually I gave up and switched to Shimano PDM-520. who i love

I ride on the road but don't have the money for two bikes so this is my family fixed bike too and it's not an option for family vacations. These seem like a great option. I didn't realize my SPD spikes wouldn't work with them, but since they contain compatible spikes, that's not a problem. Insertion and removal seems easy enough and I'll update their durability when I've put some actual miles on them.

Love my Crankbros Doubleshots. I switched between cropped and flat for a few months until I got used to the bailout (a few dabs learning trails). But once I get my settings right, I really enjoy them. I ride trails, but I enjoy riding around the apartment with the neighborhood kids and practicing some skills without wearing shoes. DEFINITELY recommend for anyone new to clip-on riding. Practice unhooking at home in the yard so it doesn't hurt when you fall.

Great pedals, I really like them. They're affordable, yet feature CrankBrothers' reliable and maintenance-free bearing design. I like the compound case, it's sturdy. I highly recommend them. However, the spikes in it are rubbish. The black mounting washer has the wrong size holes causing the head of the screw to protrude through the washer!
