These crayons are quite fragile and break easily. I made the holders out of some sort of aluminum tube which reinforced them after breaking the first one. They are softer and mark wood better than crayons on end grain.

I have a 2 year old goth who has an obsession with coloring all of his coloring pages black. We bought box after box of giant crayons only to throw away all the colors. You are perfect. They are stronger and more durable than regular Crayola colored pencils. The packaging says they're waterproof, but from experience I can tell you they'll wash off walls with baking soda and peroxide.

There was only 1 colored stick in the box! Update: Only one color was reported to the shipper. They quickly sent me another box for free. They intentionally wanted to fix what an employee failed to do. These are excellent pencils, they are easy to use and don't break. I used them on an outdoor set I built for Drive Thru Nativity. We used the colored pencils as detail g because the weather doesn't affect it. Biting cold, snow, no rain! Good value for money!
