Have been using them for 10 years now. I have 6 of these and they are great and last a long time. Had just broken 1 after 10 years bought this as a replacement.

I recently bought a Dell 9200 Inspiron and it seems even Dell's "high-end" laptops aren't free of cheap components. My headphone jack is already broken. Of course, I'm not sending back a $1,600 laptop just to have the headphone jack fixed (although I know people who will). That would just be a waste of my time and money because 1/8" headphone jacks break like this all the time. It was difficult for the computer to tell which sound card to use for which program. Although the equipment was impeccable. Still there. If I were still a DJ I would probably still use it.

This is a great accessory for your laptop considering most computers have crappy speakers. What I particularly like about this item is that you just plug it into a USB port and have two different sound cards, which is great if you plan to mix music using any music software. Very easy to use, love the fact that it has an optical output slot. If you want to amplify the sound of your laptop with any speakers and two separate sound cards, this is the right choice.

I work as a DJ. I hate when people look at my CDs so I decided to make them all in MP3 format and use my laptop for DJing. I LOVE this sound card, it works great. I don't hear any buzzing noise from the laptop and all the quality is there!

Contrary to what I've read, some sound card buyers say they definitely compare to the built-in audio commonly found in laptops and other computers with built-in, non-upgradable audio sounds great. I recommend playing uncompressed audio files such as .wav, .aiff, CDs or Apple lossless files to really demonstrate its capabilities. I was listening with decent headphones and a stereo receiver with two regular bookshelf speakers. The sound was as good as a high quality home audio device like a CD…

My only problem is to find a driver for Win 7. They have a driver on the CL site for Win 7 and 8 but my computer doesn't like it. I should have researched that before buying. The problem is not with the seller, but with the CL and possibly with the user. I remember having trouble finding the correct driver for the Audigy 2ZS for XP, which worked correctly.
