Very pretty but does not have the color gradient as shown. Something solid purple. Very sturdy, even a little difficult to put the lid on (assuming an elderly person might have trouble with it). However, this kettle's fatal flaw is that it spills (hot water) while you're pouring it. Which of course is totally unacceptable.

This is BAD designed. Even with a warning that boiling water should not be poured out immediately, the spout spits out boiling water. Why a kettle to boil water for tea just for it to stop boiling to use. I used it twice, the second time I burned my hand with boiling water. HORRIBLE DESIGN, just to be safe don't buy.

The perfect kettle that lasts a long time. I bought exactly the same kettle in the blue version 10 years ago. I'm changing colors in my kitchen, so I opted for a more neutral silver instead. I gave the blue one to my mom, she loves it. It's still like new even though I've used it a lot. Highly recommend Le Creuset.

I've had one of these for years and thought it would be nice to get a shiny new one. I received it and put it aside for cleaning but haven't used it for a while. After a week of careful use, I noticed black dots on the bottom of the cup. I emptied the pot and found the coating on the inside had chipped off in 4 places! Since 30 days have passed I cannot return it. 70€ is not worth that much anymore in my opinion.

The kettle is beautiful and easy to use. Be sure to empty it after each use. I have a gas range with large burners, so I turn it on medium rather than high so the flame doesn't reach from the bottom but flares up the sides. This is an important note as I have a history of overheating. But the kettle heats up quickly and I only pour in as much water as I need for tea, so the water doesn't stay in the kettle all the time. Read the instructions again! You will love it.

The stainless steel version is the only one on this model that will not rust. Enamel is beautiful, but it takes iron to bond to it, and iron rusts. The stainless steel kettle is made of the same material inside and out and will not rust. Also, they must have changed the pipe. I've read in other reviews that the kettle spills when pouring because the whistle is attached to the spout with a plastic ring that can be seen in some pictures.
