These scrapers appear to have been cut and shipped without smoothing the edges. Probably laser cut, but definitely not smoothed, let alone polished or polished to be burr free. The steel appears to be properly hardened and tempered. It took quite a long time to make the edges smooth and square in preparation for polishing. Once raised, the burr cuts well and promises longevity. What I got was three pieces of carbon steel, much like you would get an old handsaw blade with a hacksaw and a file.

This is my first time using scrapers so I have no comparison to this product. They look like high quality metal. I find multiple uses for them: for smoothing odd-shaped parts and removing old finishes like lawyer and shellac. Sharpening and maintaining a good edge is something I need to learn. But there are many tutorial videos on YouTube about it. I did not buy the recommended polishing tool. I'm still trying other heavy tools like mechanical wrenches for this purpose.
