Description of Crown Sporting Goods Ice Hockey Pucks Review: 6-Ounce Durable and Reliable Choice

Made using the highest quality materials. Tested for durability. Designed to be safe and unique. Play with the puck the pros use; NHL official size and weight: 3" diameter, 1" thick, 166 grams. The vulcanized rubber material slides smoothly on ice, but the grippy, textured walls won't slide off your stick. Remarkable flatness, hardness and smooth surface quality for consistent, powerful and accurate shots and passes.

Good quality Basic Best in Sports

I used them for car legs, not hockey. They are not branded and therefore ideal for this application. The rubber looks durable and high quality.

Pros
  • Durability tested
Cons
  • Expandable

Okay I won't use it as a hockey puck

I didn't like gun blocks so I decided to just buy a hockey puck and poke a few holes in it. I use it to drive pins out of pistols and rifles. That works great. I still need to cut a channel to accommodate the gun breech but I plan to do so. If it works, and I believe it will, I'll see some of these being used on my weapon bench.

Pros
  • Made from the highest quality materials
Cons
  • Cleanliness

Too hard to hit with a tuning fork

Like others have said, this thing stinks. However, it does not fill the room with an odor. As long as you're within about a foot or so of it, it's not that bad. I took mine, washed it, poured essential oils on it and rubbed it in. The rubber absorbs odors, that helped a lot! But I found it too hard to get my tuning forks right. They ring loudly when I hit that puck and they don't produce that nice and deep vibration or sound like I'm hitting them with the included rubber mallet. Tuning forks…

Pros
  • Play with the puck of the pros; Official NHL Height & Weight: 3" diameter, 1" thick, 166 grams
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

DO NOT USE AS A DISPLAY

My nephew was a hockey player and died at the age of 29 (cancer). I placed one of these hockey pucks (ordered new and never used) on my oak bookshelf and placed its tiny urn on top (6 months ago). When I reduced it to dust I couldn't believe the color change in the wood it caused. It sits on a beautiful lacquered oak shelf that is not exposed to direct sunlight, has never been damp or had moisture problems and is kept clean. We've tried everything possible, the stain won't come out. DO NOT…

Pros
  • Designed for safety and uniqueness
Cons
  • No automatic controls
