Description of πŸ”’ Cruiser Accessories 81230 Locking Fasteners, Domestic-Stainless: Secure Your Ride with Reliable Stainless Steel Locks

Locking fasteners are uniquely designed to deter the removal of any license plate frame from your automobile. The combination of the pin, located in the middle of the allen screw, and the special Cruiser key makes it impossible to remove the screws with a typical allen wrench.

Good concept with hex heads

The number plate screws are not very long, I was hoping to use them on my rear number plate but combined with the Lexan number plate cover they weren't long enough, to then go to the other side of my bumper. Also, I just don't have plastic locks, I had to work really hard to get the screw in. I wonder how many years it takes for plastic locks to become brittle and break. If I order again I'll make sure the bolts are longer and go "old school" with standard metal locknuts.

Pros
  • Good product for the price

Great product but you need to know one thing!

These locks have been on my car since July 2015 and they are great. I installed them with the black cruiser screw caps, which stayed in place and didn't come loose the entire time; I just removed the covers and the screws underneath look new and come off easily, no WD40 required! BUT, don't lose the key that comes with the fasteners or you won't unscrew them! I had a wrench in the glove box which I discovered after trying to remove the bolts with a set of sprockets I had - none fit. Highly…

This is necessary to mount the plate on the front bumper.

Required to mount the plate on the front bumper without holes. The only thing I can say is that they should at least tell you what size drill bit you need to install the white screw mounts as I had to do some trial and error to get the right drill bit. Well I didn't have the right size drill bit so I had to drill a hole in the ghetto. The rest of the product worked as intended. In fact, I could find these items in a store for 99 cents. Not as much. There's no point in having security screws…

This is a good product to protect your license plate

This is a good product to protect your license plate. In our local news recently there was a story about people stealing license plates from cars and then swapping them for other cars. I'm not sure what it actually does for them, but I'd rather not find out why they do it. The news has shown that if a thief tries to take your license plates, most likely he just has a regular screwdriver and these security screws will slow him down and in some cases completely prevent him from taking your…

Sigh. not as pictured

I've bought a few of these in the past (both domestic and imported cars) and they worked well so when we recently sold my wife's car I forgot to remove the security bolts ( they just ripped off the old tag and gave it to her) i knew i had to buy new ones. I was a bit concerned about several reviews stating that the "home made" version was not a self tapping screw as shown in the picture but more of a flat end machine screw, but I noticed that these reviews are from a few years ago came from…
