Useless Brake Tool for Automotive Repairs

The CTA Tools 1140 is definitely not worth investing in. Based on our own experience, this brake tool did not help in any repair or maintenance on our automotive. The only positive is that it is compact and easy to store. However, the cons include the tool being flimsy and poorly constructed. Additionally, it does not fit properly on brake components and can cause damage during use. Save yourself the hassle and avoid this brake tool.

Pros
  • Sturdy and durable construction
Cons
  • Requires some skill and experience to use effectively

Works great, leaves a perfect finish, fast delivery.

This grinder worked great. I used it to rebuild the master cylinder and all 4 wheel cylinders on my friend, a '63 Ford Galaxy. It leaves a perfect finish on all bores and the cylinders don't leak. Fast shipping too.

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Exactly what I needed.

I have a 1977 Schwinn Sierra that I am restoring from a badly rusted stock condition. So far so good, but the seat tube was rusty and punctured inside. Old bicycles from the 1970s have a very small seat tube diameter. This tool was perfect for the job. He refined the interior, and the pillar smoothly slid inward. Perfect.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Hard to say
