After several years of using Mr. Coffee I decided to update it when it was no longer in service. They say this coffee tastes better. I will also say that the permanent filter is useless. You still need to buy paper filters. And so often this car just makes a mess. the degree of grinding bubbles. I've seen this work for regular drip coffee or French Press. Grinding is just not acceptable for espresso. That's not very good and not even very good. I ran it on the best settings and took two shots. The first shot was fired in a big way. The second was slightly better, but both extracted quickly, were watery, and almost no foam. So this coffee maker is very well designed. It's easy to use, quiet, doesn't leak, and you can adjust the temperature of the warning label to keep your freshly brewed coffee from overcooking. Removing the carafe is easy as you lift it by the handle and tilt it, it slides right out and no spills. Overall, Cusinart has done a good job. And it looks good on the table. Very minimalist.
