Won't cut most potatoes all the way through

We made french fries with this. While french fries look almost normal size when freshly cut, they shrink to the size of a string after cooking. I was thinking of using it for carrots and other veggies, but there's a big problem. It doesn't cut completely. Every time a potato gets stuck in the slicer I have to very carefully remove it to use more. This blade is supposed to be faster than hand cutting, I'm not sure if it is.

Good for french fries but tends to stick

Overall I like it but I'm taking off a star because it clogs easily. I like french fries. They're slightly larger than your typical fast-food frozen fries (McD's BK, etc.) and just as long as the fries you can put in your Cuisinart's serving mouth. Long fried potatoes will not work, you need to cut them. I've only tried large 5lb russet potatoes, but after each one the last bite seemed to get stuck in the blade. The base will bounce with torque as the blade spins (this is a trick because the…

Works great - easier and cheaper than buying a separate spiralizer

I've bought a lot of zucchini and sweet potato noodles from the store - much cheaper to cut on my end. I like this CD because it reproduces these noodles well and I don't have to buy a separate spiralizer. It also does a good job of slicing french fries (which come out a bit curly) from regular potatoes. One important note: place the vegetables across the oval hole and don't feed them all the way through the hole. like a shredder disc. If you do this in reverse, you'll end up with very short…

I use the disc more than all the others combined

I love this disc - and I use it more than all my other cuisinart discs combined. It makes beautiful strips of vegetables, tender sticks of zucchini that I can sauté with garlic and parsley and mix with whole wheat pasta. And I love julienning root vegetables like potatoes, beets, and swedes, then dicing the sticks on a cutting board—perfect for my homemade soups. And this is the best way to chop onions in my kitchen. I don't like beating onions with a blade because they're too finely chopped…

Great for french fries. Love it.

I bought this for 9 cup cooking from Cuisinart and it works great. It is sold for 7 and 11 cups but they are all the same size. When using it for fries, I was surprised at how little waste there was compared to what I cut by hand. all you have to do is, even with a large russet one, simply snip the ends to fit inside a potato lengthwise, then press the start button and bam in less than 2 seconds she's slicing that potato with a bunch of fries through. In just a few steps you can prepare fries…

Perfect for my low carb version of cauliflower pasta!

Perfect for my low carb version of cauliflower pasta! 1. Process a washed, raw, large head of cauliflower (this bowl of a food processor does quite a bit) with this blade for minutes, depending on your microwave. Do not overcook or the cauliflower will become soft. 3. Add a can of underheated alfredo sauce (I use Rao sauce) and lots of black pepper to the hot cauliflower. I especially like to add about a cup and a half of frozen sweet peas (they will thaw if added to hot cooked cauliflower)…

Ideal for thin French fries. Here are some tips.

I bought this light from Revain a few years ago. I've used it several times and didn't really like the quality of the fries so I removed it. Last week I decided to try again. I searched the internet for a good recipe and got some good advice which I used. The fries are fantastic! If you are in the mood for some really tasty fries and you have time, here's what you need to do: - Peel fries. Ruddy potatoes are the best. DO NOT USE RED POTATOES. They are not intended for french fries. Cut off a…
