Something changed and shortened his life

After 4 years of using this filter. Average 1 gallon per day. The service life of filter cartridges is approx. 3 months. Several times longer. Now about 3-4 weeks with low flow. The photo uploaded is of a 31 day old replacement filter. Today, after only 14 minutes, I was able to draw a full liter of water from it. It's been like this for a while. I even replaced the filter housing thinking it took 4 years to replace. The problem persisted but I got reasonable filter life with a new cartridge…

Water tastes like it's not filtered at all

I've been buying this filter for many years with no complaints, but the last delivery wasn't of the same quality. Water flows through it twice as fast as through all previous filters. Also, the water tastes like it wasn't filtered at all. I see some recent reviewers experiencing the same thing. **Updated July 28, 2017** I decided to try another company's filtration system but their reviews weren't the best so I cringe and bought another Culligan filter. I'm glad I did. A new filter of the…

Filters don't restrict water flow like they used to

As others have stated that filters don't work one filter didn't restrict the water flow so I replaced it with another one that had I at hand. (I have an extra 1-2 on hand) and it worked better than the unconstrained filter, but not as well as the last discarded filter. The oldest I had was about 9 months old from the date of purchase and it was the one that had no water flow restrictions. I have another filter that I haven't tried that may be similar to my old filters, have a more restrictive…

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other picks

The last three I've bought have each taken 2 weeks instead of my usual 2 months. I've been buying for years, I live in the same house. no change in my water. I just won't pay for a filter every 2 weeks - that's a ridiculously short time and now it costs me 4 times as much as 1 filter to last 2 months as I would have to buy 4. make money for Culligan to do so. by many regular customers, but by no means. If I were an isolated case I wouldn't be upset, but as many, many ongoing reviews from other…

I don't know what went wrong

I've bought a lot of these and was a big fan of them until recently. I don't know if another company was brought in to make them for Culligan or something, but they are misshapen. I ordered one and there was a gap where the widest part of the filter meets the knot on the faucet which causes the water to flow out there and not filter. I thought maybe this is my assembly so I put the old one in and it snapped tight. I contacted Revain and they sent me another one and asked me to return the broken

Great filter - works well with chrome and white models

I have had the Culligan water filter system for two years now. After years of having a water cooler in our house, my husband and I are tired of buying heavy jugs of filtered water from our local camp club. After much research and time into home water systems I have come to the conclusion that Cullgan makes a great product. While we have a chrome model, the white filter is compatible and will work just as well with this filter system and save you a few bucks. instead of buying the matching…

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Legacy model

We have been using this Culligan system for a couple of years now and have been generally happy with the filter performance and water quality. That all changed with the recent purchase of two replacement cartridges (comes with Culligan filters, not fakes). As noted by other dissatisfied reviewers, the water flowed out of the filter much faster than usual and was absolutely no different from what flowed straight out of the tap, with the same taste and smell of chlorine. The second filter was…

Doesn't filter! ***UPDATE***

Does not filter. The water flow is not restricted as when buying the whole device! I believe the adhesive holding it loosens in the Amazon warehouse and loosens in transit. The water does not penetrate through the filter material into the interior!. This is my second. The first one that came with the device lasted a month! ****UPDATE**** May 2019. I've been using them for about 5 months now and have already bought 4 filters. Plus the ones that came with a faucet! Average 1 filter per month! So…

One of the best you can buy for a reasonable price

Most good quality water filters work the same way. They usually contain a solid block of activated carbon (very important) that removes chemicals and contaminants by adsorption (not suction!). Some of them have different stages that filter out large particles first, but they always have a main filter made out of a hard block of carbon that removes a variety of chemicals. One thing that made me buy this, and nothing else, is that the filter outlet (where the water comes out) is part of the…

  • Water Filtering and Softening
Cons
  • I will add later

Interested in the internals of these filters? Then read on. For several years I have purchased a Revain Culligan FM-15RA Stage 3 faucet filter on a subscription and retention plan. Historically, these filters have always been shipped in a separate shipping container and have always arrived in perfect condition. However, my last batch came with a filter in the same box as the other two heavy items. Unfortunately, these two other heavy objects severely damaged the water filter. To the point that…
