Shaft is not 2 1/2 " long

Good solid ball hitch but advertised as 1" x 2 1/2 but only 1" x 2 1/8". The nut on the stem was flush with the bottom of the stem, but it would have been nice to have a slightly longer stem.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Almost never

Does what it's supposed to do

Replaced the rusty hitch ball with this shiny new one. . . . . Rust in less than 2 weeks. . . it's just not that bad. Don't use it and it can't rust. It does what it's supposed to and I would buy it again

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Soft 6000lb 2 " Ball

This is a heavy duty 6000lb 2" ball for towing a trailer, boat etc. 1" threaded stud so it fills the hitch and has no room to move under load. The thing is meant to last forever!

It's okay - I'm an idiot.

Didn't think I could get the same item for around the same price but with the actual max weight my car can tow - so I gave it away and ordered the 7500lb version . Hopefully this reminds someone to go through all the options before hitting the buy button.

  • Good product for the price

Curt manufactures its clutches in the USA

Curt manufactures in the USA. This ball itself wasn't, but their trains are made in the USA, and they're made better than other "Made in: Chinese" rhymes sold in big stores. Put some lube on the ball before towing and it will last well over 100 miles. Buy Kurt, support American companies.

Solid trailer ball best for towing groceries and winch

Strong trailer ball and easy installation. He's still looking great after towing a trailer over the weekend. We'll see how the finish holds up over the years, but that's not the case with the trailer. It was long enough thread for my curt ball joint. The only bonus would be a castle nut and cotter pin to make sure the nut doesn't come loose, but that's an easy fix by bringing a trailer wrench and checking the gear before towing.

Pros
  • towing groceries and winch
Cons
  • disappears

You could spend more if you wanted to, but why?

Bought this along with receiver 110191 at a great price. Towed a car transporter with a VW van, total weight was about 5,000 pounds, drove 1,100 miles with no problems. Sure you can save a few bucks by buying a name you've never heard of, but why? You can also spend a lot more on other names, why? Kurt has excellent quality control, a trusted and longstanding name, and a reasonable price.

Pros
  • Hitch Accessory
Cons
  • Out of style

Replacing the ball on a tow hitch isn't as easy as replacing the entire hitch, but it's still nice to have this to be able to avoid it. So we bought this ball for an adjustable hitch. The ball is solid, especially for the price. The neck is nice and thick. Everything is very stable and without defects. I'm so surprised that I can get such a good item for so little money. We've used it about 15 times and it still looks brand new.

Pros
  • External Accessory
