Total waste of money

This brake control harness was useless! Automotive product?! What a joke! When I tried this product, it didn't work at all. The instructions were unclear, and the wires were all jumbled up. The only 'pro' I can think of is that it's cheap, but you get what you pay for! The 'con' is that it's a complete waste of money and time. Avoid this product at all costs.

Pros
  • Easy to install and compatible with a variety of brake controllers.
Cons
  • Requires additional purchase of compatible brake controller, increasing overall cost.

Fits F150 2012

Both 51436 and 51437 will work, same wiring harness, different packaging. Like others, I first looked at the brake control connector on my 2012 F150 and thought it was the wrong size. That is not the case, the OEM socket has a plug. Check out YouTube for more info, but this worked great on my car. FYI, I called Kurt and took their advice when I realized they were wrong. It fits, but google the install to know what to do. The installation also took 5 minutes.

Pros
  • Tow Bar Accessory
Cons
  • Functionality

Easy installation and everything works!

Plug 'n Play - for 2015-16 F150 Pull the plastic panel under the steering wheel towards you from above - it snaps in at the top, hinges at the bottom. This will expose the metal bracket - remove 4-8mm screws (head/base size). You then have plenty of handroom to reach the Ford connector (tucked into the back of the dash bag for spares) and buckle into the Curt harness - bring the dash back, mount the brake controls just above the throttle (where you can easily see and reach) and that's itโ€ฆ
