Outstanding performance and lifetime guarantee

Very sharp and easily cuts through cable insulation. The best part about it being small is that you can take it to Home Depot and get a free replacement if it stops working. No exam required. I had another Klein wire stripper that I bought 11 years ago. I took it to Home Depot and they replaced it with no problems.

Cons
  • New competition has arrived

Near Perfect: Wire Stripper

These pliers are my go-to choice for basic electrical work like plugging into an outlet. I have two small complaints. 1) The latch that keeps them closed sometimes gets jammed in the middle of use. 2) Jaws will flex when used to bend 12/2 to form loops for screw engagement. Not flexible enough to damage them, but they will bend. I could have used a different tool, but I just stripped the wire, I'm not going to switch tools.

  • Best in the Niche

  • No Machine

What a great tool! on Hand Tools

I used these in my shop remodel today and what a great tool! I never knew there was a tool that could remove the outer insulation from a Romex. I used to use one of these devices with a single cutter that would cut the outer shell in half on one side and then you had to go back and use the cutter to remove it. This cutter cuts cleanly and does not cut the insulation around each individual wire at all. I highly recommend it.

Now this is my favorite instrument.

What can I say . These things are amazing. I have three other tools that I use when I got this one, I wasn't so sure as they seem too flimsy and flimsy. But that's not the case. Now they are my favorite tool. You can take your Romex apart, you can strip the wires, you can twist your wires with it, you can cut the wires with it, I can go on, and these things are so cool. I managed to remove three tools to use this one and lighten the load on my bag. I would recommend them to everyone.

Rust and nubs fell out, Klein called it wear and tear

I bought this for personal use. I don't even use it that much. Those two handles keep slipping out. Another thing that worries me is that there are rust marks on the blade. I've bought one from another manufacturer for many years and never had this problem. I called Klein Tools today and they said they do not guarantee wear and tear and tare. My tools are kept in the garage. So I don't know what kind of wear (rust) you are talking about. Another thing is that Revain is not their officialโ€ฆ

Fake products?

Bought this for my son who is studying electrical engineering and thought it would be a quality tool as it is small. However, after very little use, he says the cutting teeth are misaligned, causing the tool not to close smoothly. Since the Revain's 30-day warranty period had expired, I called Klein Tools directly about their warranty. I have been told that KLEIN TOOLS IS NOT SOLD ON AMAZON! So I don't know where these tools marked Klein on the Revain website came from, but be careful if youโ€ฆ

He looks real to me. Well designed tool

I almost bought this tool. After reading the reviews about the cheap construction, the handles falling off, and the fact that it's fake, I figured I should buy something else. But I really wanted this tool, I had a lot of wires and I needed a good tool. Knowing how easy it was to travel back in time, I decided to give it a try. The instrument was packaged in "Made in the USA" packaging and clearly belonged to Klein. I tested the handles - nice design, solid construction, no choking - muchโ€ฆ

Decent tool for a job I hate

I don't like Romex. I prefer to use BX when given a choice. I often have no choice, so I gave in to peer pressure and bought a Romex puller from a trusted hand tool manufacturer. It does what it's supposed to do, which is to strip the plastic insulation off a piece of 12/2 or 14/2 Romex without damaging the insulation on the wires underneath. It doesn't work that fast on 3.12. or on 10/3, but with a little finesse it will get the job done. The built-in wire strippers also do an excellent job of

Great tool (for the price), worst packaging

Do you know how Revain markets certain products in non-irritating packaging? Well, this tool comes in a package that's as opposite as it gets. It comes in one of those heat-sealed plastic packages that require a Sawzall and a lot of hexes to open. Okay, maybe not that bad, but definitely a box opener and maybe a cut finger. Seriously Klein these aren't for retail where theft proof packaging is needed, can't you just make other packaging for ecommerce retailers? with ease and does a fantasticโ€ฆ
