Drops Connection Daily

We've had it less than 6 months and every month we switched to our plan. The router keeps dropping connections either to our phones or to our other devices. He's never in touch with everything at once. We also can't get it to connect to 2G and 5G networks, we contacted tech support and literally waited several hours in a row. Don't buy, it's a waste.

Waste of money on computer and accessories

I've had this product for almost a week and I think it's the worst purchase I've ever made. When I first started the router and changed the password, everything seemed great, but the next day my devices wouldn't connect to the network, the signal got weaker, and the worst thing was that the password kept changing from time to time Default password has been changed, ignoring the one I installed in the initial configuration. I have to turn it off and on again from time to time to allow devices to

  • Don't waste too much time

Stay away from this product and do not buy from Revain!

If I could, I would give this one star. Bought because I thought it would be better than my girlfriend's $50 Linksey router she bought at Walmart. Not only does the WiFi connection keep dropping, the router itself can't stay connected to the network even when I'm hardwired! I tried calling tech support but they waited for me for at least almost an hour before I gave up. AC1900 DIR-878 is garbage and I urge people to stay away from this nightmare! I wish I could just buy a Nighthawk like I…

Cons
  • Not everything fits

D-Link Technical Support has confirmed to me that the D- LINK AC1900 DIR model -878 MU-MIMO severely restricts SSID names. This is the first time I've had a router that didn't allow the SSID to have anything other than AZ az 0-9 dashes (-), underscores (_), and spaces in its name. Unfortunately, an SSID like "my.house" (with a dot in the name) is common. Since I have about 50 devices using my dotted SSID (most of them are smart devices), I don't want to reconfigure them all. Also, you should…

Great product but BEWARE OF TECH SUPPORT!

This router does its job perfectly! There are no complaints about its functionality. However, I have two warnings: 1. This router was discontinued in 2021, so there will be no tech support for it after December 2020. The application required to set up the wireless network didn't work for me, so I looked for help on their website. A chat popped up asking if I needed help. DON'T ANSWER CHAT! This is a scam to make you pay to install a router and do bogus work to improve your computer. Find a…

Junk electronics on routers

This router died after 1 year and 2 months of operation. I had a few issues updating the firmware during its short existence. I thought it was a small buggy. I chose another brand instead of suffering from this mid-priced, rigged piece of junk. I sound bitter because I am. It's not expensive, but it's not cheap either, and I find 1 year use pretty much disposable. After 2 hours of their mediocre (but free) tech support nothing could be done. After being told to take care of it under warranty…

Pathetic excuse for a Wi-Fi router.

I bought this to replace my Apple Wi-Fi system/network as AirPort is no longer supported and I expected the technology to improve since I installed Apple products. No no no. This router has bug spray range and is weak when paired with range extenders (so weak that I could plug my printer in and use it). I don't think it's worth the money, and it certainly wasn't worth the repeated attempts to get it to work. I went back to using Apple devices until someone told me how to improve coverage in a…

Horror, horror, horror!

Did I mention it's terrible? Good - you get a new wireless router. what do you do first Yes. Update the firmware and change the default SSID and pre-shared key from "8D509C28896865F8640F328F30F15721" to something weird like "MyWiFi.9821" so you can enter it from the TV. Right? I SAVED 2 HOURS TRYING TO CHANGE THE DEFAULT SSID AND KEY! I have updated firmware, rebooted, disabled etc. etc. Bachelor of Computer Science with 15 years of technical support and systems administration experience. THIS…

Needs to constantly reboot

Worst router, read all reviews before buying, many say that it constantly loses connection. Of course, since the 30-day return period has expired, I've found that I have to repeat it every few days now. The tech support is useless their solution is you really allowed it how about plugging this router in your internet hole. I used the Dlink router for 5 years and finally ended up with Dlink.
