Good economical router for a small network

Installs on a simple network: modem, Ethernet desktop, Wi-Fi laptop and printer. Was reliable and only needed a reset every two weeks or so (possibly due to a modem failure). The 2.4 GHz band works great in a small household. 5GHz band is available but I can't test it as I don't have 5GHz hardware. Dlink does a good job of helping you set up the network. The router enables file sharing between computers, wireless printing and HDMI streaming from a laptop to a widescreen TV. It's certainly more…

Pros
  • Brilliantly made
Cons
  • Annoys me

I expected a better product from D-Link.

I expected a more robust product from D-Link. Instead, there are UI issues that I ran into right away, and today I noticed some strange behavior when the device decided to turn itself off. Really expected better. UPDATE: A month later I found that this device has a very weak wireless signal that doesn't reach all of my rooms while the new Netgear device does reach them very well. To return.

Pros
  • Good stuff
Cons
  • Not sure

Router stopped working after 2 months, needs to be reset constantly

Bought for dual band operation (some older consoles don't have 5Ghz support). 2 months worked fine. Every day for the past month, I've had to unplug my router to restart it when I get home because the internet has stopped working. It's definitely a router and not a modem because after a reboot the internet works fine for a day until I get home from work and have to turn it off again for it to work. Now the problem has evolved into the need to reboot every 3 hours. Try to see if that junk now…

Pros
  • Looks good
Cons
  • Very expensive

A good router for $20. But not with standard firmware.

I highly recommend installing the latest DD-WRT beta firmware on this router when purchasing it. Of course, it works with the firmware that came with it and updates provided by D-Link, but in my experience, after just a few days, problems began to appear that caused the speed to drop below that of a dial-up connection and required a reload. hand to regain speed. However, after installing the latest DD-WRT beta, it works great. Bandwidth is good, wireless signal is good, hardware is good, just…

EZ setup works fine

Slightly faster than my old router. Sometimes it goes faster from side to side. However, the download is still slow and burps at times, and it's best to just update. Ever since Comcast increased my streaming speed, my internet has been hard to load. Upgrading the modem and router didn't make much of a difference, it definitely wasn't worth the hassle and expense! Cons: Not much faster. Pros: No more interruptions when streaming.

  • Nice to use

Easy to set up Best networking products

Pros: Easy to set up. Looks pretty good. Cons: Unreliable. I have to turn it off regularly as it shuts down completely during the day. AC wifi range is terrible. I live in a fairly small house (1 floor, less than 1600 square feet) and with this router right in the middle of the house, it's better to just use N. AC speeds are negligible unless you're within 10 feet of the router. Additional Info: I've owned this router for 8 months now and it's been like this since day one.

Pros
  • Same as everything before
Cons
  • Speed

Constant disconnection

We really need a 5GHz router because we live in a community where there are only 2 ISP options and we have a more popular one because it offers much faster speed at a lower cost . . The network is congested at 2.4 GHz so we have to use 5 GHz for our internet to work. I was very happy to see the good reviews for this inexpensive dual-band router. Unfortunately, the WiFi connection is annoying. If it is connected via Ethernet then there is no problem. Works perfectly. Однако независимо от того…

Pros
  • Hands free
Cons
  • Low repairability

Fast but unreliable

In less than an hour this newly arrived router completely went down. Earlier in the day I received it, I set it up fairly quickly and easily. But I could only see the 2.4GHz band and not the 5GHz band. [I've never owned a dual-band router, so forgive my naivety about this product.] However, everything I clicked arrived quickly and accurately, and as quickly as it could. I went to check it and the router LEDs were NOT on. I thought it was blown [so completely dead], or I blew a fuse for that…

  • Easy to use

  • Quick start guide
