This lock looked promising when I received it about a month ago. Set the combination to all 0's to register my new PIN and it worked. I practiced opening the lock with the dowel several times before using it on my bike and had no problems. Well I've only used this lock for five short shopping trips with very little use and the cheap plastic bit on the bottom kinda broke. Luckily the lock broke after it had already been removed from my bike.

I bought a college bike to get around campus. I put it on a bike rack near my dorm and immediately forgot the passcode. I tried various ways to get my bike back, even tried picking the bike lock. Nothing. Other people came with bolt cutters, couldn't open it. Nothing. This lock hasn't moved an iota. Months have passed and I still haven't won this fight. I'm afraid my bike has a new home now. This bike lock is way too good at what it does.

I bought this lock because my previous bike lock was made of plastic and it didn't survive the theft. I knew from research that a metal U-lock would probably be my best bet. When this lock arrived I was surprised at how heavy it is. In other words, it's difficult to pick like my previous lock. I also like that you can customize your unlock code. It took me a few minutes to figure out how to use it - open it, key in the combination and go. But after a few bike rides I really like it! Very practical and I really appreciate it because you are the one who sets the combination, you will remember it. It feels very solid, which is how a good U-lock should be. I only wish it had a larger diameter as it's impossible to lock the frame and wheel at this size like I always try to do with my bike. But if that's not a problem for you, then I…
