Description of DANIEL SMITH Extra Watercolor Indian

DANIEL SMITH is the Innovative Manufacturer of Beautiful Watercolors for Artists Worldwide, and makes the largest range of watercolors of any manufacturer, more than 240 colors. The 240+ color collection includes the exciting PrimaTek watercolors made from minerals (like Amethyst) plus other unique colors (like Moonglow) not available elsewhere, and Luminescent Watercolors which allow artists to capture the luminescent colors that exist in nature that regular watercolors cannot capture!. Artists choose Indian Red for architectural renderings, old brick and other subjects where a flat (matte) granular surface is desired. The opacity and density intrinsic to Indian Red make this grayed earth brown a useful asset. One coat of this low-intensity pigment covers even a highly saturated passage. Yellow Ochre, Cerulean Blue and Indian Red form an opaque triad, producing grayed, earthlike mixtures common to landscapes. Handling tip: Hit it once and walk away. Excellent Lightfastness, Opaque, Granulating, Medium staining. PR 101. Conforms to ASTM D4236, D5067.

Vibrant Pigments for Arts and Crafts!

These watercolors provide vibrant bold colors perfect for any arts and crafts project. The pigments mix well with water, resulting in a smooth application on paper. A con would be that they are a little pricey, but the quality is worth the investment. Overall, a fantastic addition to any artist's collection..

Pros
  • Highly pigmented Indian color provides vibrant and rich results
Cons
  • Requires more water to achieve lighter tones and may require more layers to build up colors

As a result of my tests, I determined that this watercolor produces rich, bold colors that blend beautifully. The pigment is highly saturated and creates stunning depth in my paintings. The only downside is that it may require more time and effort to achieve desired consistency due to its high pigment concentration. Overall, I highly recommend this watercolor to any artist looking to add a vibrant and unique touch to their work! .

Pros
  • Produces intense, vibrant colors with excellent lightfastness
Cons
  • May stain or tint the paper permanently

A very beautiful earthy red.

I usually only use Daniel Smith for my main watercolor palette and I've never been disappointed. It is a beautiful earthy red very similar to true piemontite but slightly less brown in tone. Both colors are diluted with a lovely muted pink and can be made a bit more orange-brown by adding yellow ocher or yellow mars. On her website, Jane Blundell gives an excellent example of the use of this color in a yellow ocher and azure chrome triad. Colors are more muted, but they're great if you're…

The collection of over 240 colors includes stunning PrimaTek watercolors made from minerals (like amethyst) as well as other unique colors (like moonlight) not available elsewhere, and vibrant watercolors that allow artists to capture the vibrant colors of nature that cannot be let play normally watercolors!

  • A few little things
