Description of 🎨 DANIEL SMITH Rose of Ultramarine Watercolor Paint Tube - Extra Fine Quality, 15ml

DANIEL SMITH is the Innovative Manufacturer of Beautiful Watercolors for Artists Worldwide, and makes the largest range of watercolors of any manufacturer, more than 240 colors. The 240+ color collection includes the exciting PrimaTek watercolors made from minerals (like Amethyst) plus other unique colors (like Moonglow) not available elsewhere, and Luminescent Watercolors which allow artists to capture the luminescent colors that exist in nature that regular watercolors cannot capture!. This exciting blend mixes Quinacridone Rose and Ultramarine Blue. The blue settles as the rose floats, creating a vibrant, dimensional purple. For those artist artists who "always mix their own purples", this unique, otherwise unattainable separation is worth exploring. Juxtapose Rose of Ultramarine with pure Phthalo Blue for fun and effect. Excellent Lightfastness, Transparent, Granulating, Medium staining. PB 29, PV 19. Conforms to ASTM D4236.

Starry and unique!

Wow! This color is impressive! I love how the ultramarine separates from the purple pink when washed off!

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Mostly good, but...

Beautiful shade of red

Pompeii Red is a beautiful colour, ranging from the rich burnt red found in the Pompeii fresco to more subtle and delicate hues. Perfect for painting portraits and landscapes. Very happy with this paint purchase.

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

Beautiful, high-grain pigment

I only use Daniel Smith watercolors. And Lunar Violet is a wonderful pigment that creates a rich, grainy texture when mixed with Burnt Orange Quinacridone (or any other quinacridone pigment) and blends beautifully into paper. Ideal for varnishing wood.

Pros
  • Acceptable
Cons
  • Not sure

LOVE Ultramarine Rose!

This is such a rich, deep color that it takes your breath away. The pink pigment floats transparently above the blue's dramatic graininess. This leaves an incredible result. Two pigment watercolor medium staining. Daniel Smith's watercolors are stunningly beautiful and I love them all!

Pros
  • Painting
Cons
  • Something different

Rose Ultramarine is beautiful!

I love Daniel Smith's colors (even if you put them in the bowl some of them will dry out and fall out). Grainy colors are my favorites, but these... oh my god! It separates into different colors resulting in absolutely gorgeous and unpredictable effects. It's like magic in a tube!

Pros
  • Colors
Cons
  • Crumpled

terrible condition; Questionable authenticity

These tubes were very rough and when I opened them the paint exploded in a huge mess. I also doubt that these are genuine Daniel Smith paints. The label on the tubes I received does not match other Daniel Smith Primatek paints I bought directly from a reputable art store. Please note that the color of the text differs from the color of the lapis lazuli pipe in the photo. Definitely going to send them back and refer them to art dealers.

Pros
  • Art, painting and art supplies
Cons
  • Obsolete model
