This is a beautiful mug but I would not have bought it if I had held it in my hands first. The handle is too close to the top, requiring the person to either grab the mug themselves or hold it with their other hand. This is a really nice 'travel mug' as described in the Revain ad. Yes, it's big = 17 oz. But certainly not a travel mug. It has a heavy base and that makes it heavy overall. As I get older I tend to use lighter plates, cups, teapots etc. I find that the handle was too high and it got heavier as I drank from it. Poor quality. The lid leaks despite a decent plastic gasket, and the brittle plastic is flimsy and feels cheap. The sliding piece that covers the drinking hole is short lived for this world. The mug itself is made of a thick, porcelain-like material, which could mean it keeps liquids hotter longer, or it's hollow and will break the first time it's placed carelessly.
