Five Star Dash Mounts

Perfect for my 2012 Jeep. Keeps the GPS in place with no movement. Update: 9-4-17 So it's been in the Jeep all summer, with my GPS installed, both on and off road, it's still working great. It has never dropped in sterling and works just as well as the day I installed it. It gets hot in the summer here in New Mexico and there is no sign of heat damage or damage to the mount/tray.

Pros
  • Perfect for me
Cons
  • Available in black only

Great idea, needs revision

Great in theory. In practice, some problems arise. Easy to install and quick and easy to adjust from vertical to horizontal. However, I had an iPhone 6 with a very thin case. I didn't realize how close it was to the bottom of the tray and it snapped the charging cable in my phone. It would be better to put it upside down, but then the cord sticks out in the air. My husband has a Galaxy S7 with a stronger body, and even with the largest prongs and the small amount of stretch it allows, it barely

Love it! 4 stars Only cons

Love it! 4 stars Only negative point: - When flipping from horizontal to vertical, especially when plugged in, the bottom part is like a bulge on the center divider. Holding your phone completely horizontal the entire time isn't a problem, although it does get a little awkward with Touch ID. - It may be tight or not suitable for a plus if you have rescue case or other sturdy case. This is anyone's guess - I'm saying my iPhone 6 made the best of it with the case having the largest "arm"…

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Not sure

It's very good and fairly affordable

It's very good and fairly affordable. Only 1 screw for installation. It's a little awkward to put the phone in and take it out again. If it holds up well. I'll probably stick a magnet on at some point (styles need to be glued to the dash though) but for now it works. I don't like that I need two hands to pick up my phone, but my Jeep isn't designed for everyday city driving, so it's not a big deal. Also not thrilled that my sunglasses no longer fit there. Overall good value, easy to install and
