Exactly what the doctor ordered

Like most people, I read a lot of reviews about different types and brands of speaker spikes. I needed spikes for my front floorstanding speakers that are placed on a carpeted floor. What I needed were spikes long enough to pierce the carpet and get to the base (cement, wood, etc.). The DSS3-BC are machined from solid chrome steel with a black tint and chrome finish. Surprisingly expensive

I can't understand why these speaker tips are so expensive. They are perfect for what I need. I have a thick carpet and carpet pad and they allow the speaker stands to rest on the concrete slab for maximum stability. There are scientific reports stating that speaker tip noise isolation is almost useless if it doesn't prevent speaker stand rocking, but is quite adequate and beneficial for stability. I'm not sure Dayton Audio saturated the market with a single spike option. in stock or something,

Excellent Cone Spikes

They are useful for penetrating standard carpeting. I bought the shorter ones and they are better suited to tile or hardwood with the included bases. The shorter ones were too short and stocky to ensure they hit the ground properly. Being taller and not as wide, with a narrower tip, it's pretty clear that the tip penetrated both the carpet backing and the upholstery.
