Possibly the best audio hardware purchase I've ever made under $100.

Received this to use with the free Room EQ Wizard (REW) audio analysis app. It was slightly cheaper and quicker to ship than the UMIK-1, a very similar USB mic. Just plug it in, download the calibration text file and use it. It's durable and comes with a small tripod and long cable in a nice soft case. Using it with REW has been fun and rewarding. Possibly the best audio hardware purchase I've ever made under $100.

Pros
  • Easy Setup
Cons
  • Out of fashion

Seems to work as intended

From all the testing I've done so far I find this microphone to work as intended and the calibration file (sold separately) is accurate enough for most acoustic settings appears and design purposes. I've used it with several different software analyzers and it's quite sensitive. The small form factor of the sensor end is really useful for capturing impulse responses in unique ranges. Measurement mics aren't the most glamorous of purchases, but they are really useful tools and this one works as…

Pros
  • Not just useful for intended purpose
Cons
  • Too dumb

Does the job but is very loud

LOTS of self-noise from this mic. This is not earthwork, it is any stretch, but not the same COST as earthwork. Seems accurate enough to measure the room I'm using it for and process the recording room for audio anomalies. But useless for anything else. It seems easy to overload, so you really need to watch your levels. But. again. how much do you expect for this price? It does the job well, and if you only need it for measurements, it's accurate enough.

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Great value for money - perfect for room and speaker calibration!

Pros: -Tripod mount and miniature tripod included -Great carrying case included -Looks like it has a very flat frequency response -Looks like it has a wide pickup spread -Also great for recording vocals Cons: -Honest That said, this thing is pretty much perfect, especially for auto-EQing my amateur home theater setup in combination with Room EQ Wizard, Equalizer APO and Equalizer APO's Peace GUI. - The serial number could be engraved or printed more permanently - The case could be a little…

This device will hear what you can fix before the critics!

I have two of these devices for sound analysis and other acoustic measurements. I'm not a pro but I do write music and play some very interesting ones. These mics are inexpensive and do the job just as well as the measurement mics which cost a lot more. Dayton Audio is one of my favorite places to work and I have never regretted purchasing the products they make, promote or sell in their store. I trust that if you don't measure space signals without other telemetry equipment, you can't go…

The Dayton Audio EMM-6 Microphone works GREAT with the DriveRack PA+!

I bought this with my DBX DriveRack PA+ and it works perfectly! Good build quality, perfectly calibrated and overall the product is exactly what you need! Pros: Excellent build, good price, carry case, mic grip included Cons: None so far If you're buying a DBX DriveRack PA+, you'll need one of these to set up in no time. You can read my review of the DriveRack PA+ and you'll see that its master is key for most DJs on the run. Of course, if you have an audio engineering degree and are really…

Pros
  • Good looking
Cons
  • Some imperfections

Absolute top equipment!

This is my first time trying to "ring out" my monitors and what can I say? Easy to set up, get your calibration file and run the awesome room EQ wizard. REW has a pretty difficult learning curve, so dive into the tutorials, but it's worth it. Export your patches to the system-wide equalizer APO (Windows only, I'm sure there is a Mac equivalent) and listen to the results. My monitors just sound like that. transparent. for lack of a better word. Turn patches on and off, remembering that turning…

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • I have doubts
