Works well with Microdrive and XP Pro

I've had this for a few years now and it has worked reliably for me with a 2GB Microdrive and CF card. faster reading, but it could be the microdisk itself - 2GB is a lot of data and I tend to download hundreds of images at a time. The included stand is useless. I've used it on two XP Pro machines and don't need to install anything other than plugging a cable into a USB port. It's easy to work with him. Memory cards are displayed in My Computer as additional hard drives. I've noticed peopleโ€ฆ

Works great with WinXP SP2 with CF and SD cards.

This card reader has been working great for me since the first time I connected it to my computer. She. Therefore, if you are using one of these systems, DO NOT install the drivers provided as they can actually slow down the performance of the device. Try before installing drivers. If they work, DO NOT install them. I read that if you install unnecessary drivers you may limit the speed on USB 1 or cause other problems; You should probably only use the supplied CD if you are using Win98. I'veโ€ฆ

Run away! Memory Card Accessory

This is a terrible product and should be avoided at all costs! I spent a lot of time getting it to work properly. Its drivers work in a 16-bit windows emulator (they didn't even bother to write 32-bit w2k or xp drivers for it). So when it crashes (which happens a lot), the 16-bit emulator takes all the CPU time! Then this stuff won't be deleted, so you'll have to find out where it works in the registry and remove it manually! One of the WORST products we have ever bought here!

  • Nice packaging

  • Nothing

Does not work with Windows 2000!

I bought this reader a few months ago because it was cheap and portable. I was never able to get it working consistently on my Windows 2000 system. When I insert any type of memory card, Windows 2000 tells me I've mistakenly removed the USB device from the system and the drive icons in the Windows explorer. In order for the reader to work, I have to manually stop the USB device and then hope that the system "finds it" and adds the drives to Windows Explorer. If the reader is RECOGNIZED by theโ€ฆ

Lots of problems with this reader

There were major problems with two of these readers I bought for work. One of them keeps disappearing from my computer after reading and erasing the card and I have to reboot to get them back. The other somehow messed up two smartmedia cards and rendered them unusable. Supposedly Zio has a firmware update but so far it hasn't shipped and it's not available on their website, not to mention they said you can only install it with a Win98 system. Definitely avoid this product.
