DB Electrical 410-14057 Starter - Compatible with 4.6L Ford Auto & Truck Explorer 2002-2010, Mercury Mountaineer & Lincoln Aviator 2003-2005 Review

Bought this for my 2003 Mercury Mountaineer when my old one broke. This took six months of driving in Michigan through snow and ice and then into the summer months. In the beginning it was a simple setup. This is definitely a big savings when buying compared to a dealership.

Works great! Installation was a little tricky due to the limited space around the starter on my 02 Explorer V8, but with the right tools it wasn't too bad. It has a slightly different sound than the OEM but has worked great for the past six months or so. I've saved tons compared to buying locally from a parts store or dealer.

I have a 2002 Ford Exploder and it has been through 3 brand new batteries but they just kept replacing them for free and I figured something was wrong so I'll give it a shot grabbed this and ordered starter and called my cousin to install it. 2 winters later works well, almost reaching the 2 year mark. This starter powers my battery which is supposed to power not only my car but also two 12" subwoofers.

I think the best description is You get what you pay for. I installed this starter on 4/25 and it's already giving me problems. It's not quite over at the moment, but it's coming soon. The price is right, but in the end it's not worth the labor time to replace it in just over 2 months. I could tell the difference between OEM and this from day one but hoped it would last. He lacks strength. Very disappointed
