Great for background painting. It's smooth and creamy, making it easy to apply. I paint with dots and most of my paintings have a black background so the colors stand out. This size is enough for me to make several 6x6 canvases.

I'll add a little later. The pigment is slightly grayer than black. But only a little. I found this paint easy to apply with both a roller and brush. The finish is really matte, which I really appreciated after the paint had dried.

This is the perfect black matte finish for aquarium backgrounds. I used two (2) coats on the back of my aquarium. This makes the colors inside vibrant, looks clean and draws attention to your fish. It is so pure and clear that it inspires awe and admiration in people.

This is the ideal product for giving an 'antique' look to hand painted pottery or china. First I cover them with a gloss varnish, apply it to the whole part and then remove what I want with a soft cloth. Then seal again. A good product.

I use lamp black in my backgrounds. I stumbled across Decoart Americana and remembered using it for a toilet paper painting lesson with great results. I still have a painting I made 20 years ago and after exposure to sun, snow, wind etc it still looks the same as the day I painted it.
